Work in progress

Necessity creates movement. Ambition creates direction. Organisations and processes of change don’t begin at the beginning. Changes begin at the end, that is: identifying the targeted result. Visualising of an ideal. The dream. The joint ambition. In order to realise, within a limited time frame, a clear and joint ambition clear targets have to be set. The challenge only increases when time is short and ambition is high. That creates creative drive: what we call ‘stretch’. When it is 5 to 12 and ambition is stretched, the chance of a break down (or grinding to a halt) is significant. Improvements in present work practises (building up) are created by mutual learning processes. Renewal develops by creating space; by letting go of old trusted patterns. Building up and winding down often are simultaneous processes, but the efforts should not interfere too much with one another. Distinguising old and new, simplifies and speeds up the process of change. Necessity and ambition are part of change processes.
