The character and behaviour of management determines the values and the culture of an organisation. Values are to be done, not to be discussed. Making required behaviour visible and measurable within the organisation is one of the main contributions of management with respect to cultural change. Present day dynamics demand a flexible and self correcting attitude of individuals and departments. STRATCH induces self guidance and autonomous behaviour. The challenge of management is to lead people that can work independently as professionals. And guide people that require guidance. Those who are able to express the joint ambition will gain natural leadership. Leadership that is aimed at connecting individual interests and at the same time stay on track of the overall policy. In other words, employees don’t just do as they are told, but simply do what management (by example) does.
